About Inch Calculators
Inch Calculators publishes free calculators for building, landscaping and work projects. Every tool is built around one idea: a number on its own is not much use, so each calculator returns a quantity you can actually buy.
What makes these calculators different
Most calculators stop at the raw figure. A concrete calculator that tells you 1.36 cubic yards has not finished the job, because nobody sells 1.36 cubic yards. These tools take the calculation two steps further:
- A waste allowance is added, and the reason for it is stated rather than hidden inside the number.
- The result is rounded up to real package sizes, so you get 82 bags of 60 lb rather than a decimal.
- The full working is shown, so you can check every step and see exactly which assumptions were used.
- Imperial and metric are given side by side, because suppliers and drawings do not always agree.
How the maths is checked
Every calculator has a set of fixed test cases with known correct answers. Those tests run automatically each time the site is rebuilt, and the build fails if any result changes. A worked example appears on each page so you can see the same numbers reproduced by hand.
Privacy by design
Every calculation runs inside your own browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, stored on a server or saved between visits. There is no account, no login and no email capture. Close the tab and the numbers are gone.
How the site is funded
Inch Calculators is free to use and is funded by advertising. Adverts never change a calculation, never appear above the calculator, and are never placed where they could be mistaken for a result or a button.
Corrections
If you spot a figure that looks wrong, please write to [email protected] with the calculator name and the numbers you entered. Corrections are made quickly and the tests are updated so the same error cannot come back.
Independence
Inch Calculators is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any other calculator website, brand or company.
